What We Do

  • whatwedo1_stem Students in the program (grades K-12) build their own effective, low-cost, gardening systems while studying botany, photosynthesis, water purification, solar energy, soil chemistry, and other topics.
  • Students cultivate and tend their plants, collect, analyze, and upload their data for peer review and discussions in mentored online chat rooms. They market and sell their products to local stores and food banks, with the proceeds of the sales returned to the school’s hydroponic project. The result is a sustainable program for locally sourced, affordable fresh produce and other products – enhanced with unique opportunities for service learning and community engagement.
  • Our programs are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core
